I feel the need (finally - it has been years!) to concoct something… - Hedgecraft Resources

I feel the need (finally - it has been years!) to concoct something to protect my home. I have been robbed 3 times - by friends who have serious problems.
i don't follow recipes. i use what i have or can get easily. so does anyone know of any herbs, spices, leaves, etc. that would work to protect my house from intrusions and also help heal my friends?

The following is what i have come up with so far.
Cinnamon - purification
Clover Flowers - personal
Eucalyptus- personal, after contact with evil
Possibly steeped in a white vinegar "tea" so i can anoint various parts of my house.

Any suggestions, ingredients etc. are extremely appreciated.

This will be cross-posted. So, sorry if you see it again somewhere.

I'm so sorry to hear that.

Do you have any sage or dragonsblood resin? Or work with runes?

I've always tended to use runes to focus protection around home and family members. And for all that it's the obvious sort of choice... Salt, for cleansing/protection. Also, clove strikes me as a strong protective spice, and I've read that marjoram is associated with protection too, for some easily obtainable ones. Herbs associated with fire and earth, I think.

I'm not sure I'd steep the clove in vinegar, though -- I feel that they'd cancel each other out somehow. But, you know, personal choice.

For healing friends... I guess that depends on the nature of what you're healing. I wouldn't count people who rob me as friends, but more power to you for being that forgiving.

Best of luck with this, and I hope things work out for you.

oh. maybe i need herbs for forgiving, too.
thanks for the input.
So what about clove and oil then? I just don't want to stain things about the house. maybe i could infuse olive oil and leave bowls of it about.

as far as runes. i have one i made myself about 10 years ago. it is a scarab w/an ankh on the bottom. no idea at this point what i intended it for. i can make others though. which runes/symbols would be good?
drugs to scary things to people... my .45 got stolen. it went to a heroin dealer...

I think bay leaves are good for healing.

What I'd suggest is cleansing and blessing some water, then making the clove/bay infusion in that instead of oil. Let it sit in sunlight for as long as you can. Then dip your fingers in it and trace runes on key spots for protection.

I use Norse runes, but you may feel more drawn to others. Thurisaz (associated with thorn) and Eihwaz (associated with yew) are both good for protection. Eolh (the name varies to Algiz) is a rune for luck and friendship, too.

Here's a particularly clear image; the ones I mentioned are listed as "th," "ae," "z" and "s" respectively in there. You can also play around with creating bindrunes from the ones you want; combine them into one shape that you use all over the house. Some more googling will get you a preview of a book called "Futhark: A Handbook of Rune Magic."

Not that it's any of my business, but I do hope that you've involved the police in this. There's only so much protection clove and runes can afford you against bullets, you know?

yes. we are doing that tonight. we gave him a little time because he's a friend. also he claims it wasn't him. if it wasn't him it happened because of him. if that makes sense. i'm not worried about being shot. i think he traded it to his dealer for a fix. so i need to report it in case its ever used in a crime.

Er, the one I meant for "S" is "Sigel," but on reflection I didn't think it would work as tightly as the three I mentioned.
